What is RentaBikeNow.com?
RentaBikeNow.com is North America’s only coast-to-coast bike rental network that works with participating bike shops and rental locations. Shops from Florida to Oregon and Hawaii to Maine list their available bikes on our website. We manage inventories and schedules and take customer reservations 24/7.
How does your online system work?
Customers select the location, time period, and type of bike desired, then choose from available bikes. Your selections, including accessories and tours, are placed in a shopping cart for easy checkout. Once complete, you will receive a printable confirmation that details the pick-up location, map and directions, balance due and local riding information. Simply arrive at the specified time and location to complete the transaction and pick-up your bike.
Do you charge for “mileage” on bicycles?
All rentals include unlimited mileage and are only charged on a time basis
Is there an Age requirement to rent a bike through RentaBikeNow.com?
While you may be any age to use a rental bike, you must be 18 or older to reserve a bike through the RentaBikeNow.com online system AND pick up a reserved bike at a RentaBikeNow participating rental location. Those under 18 will need a legal guardian to conduct transactions and sign applicable waivers.
Do I have to sign a Liability Release?
Yes, cycling can be a dangerous activity and we want you to clearly understand these risks and what responsibility each involved party has regarding your rental. Reservations through RentaBikeNow.com, requires the user to agree to our terms and conditions, which includes a Liability Release, Waiver and Indemnification. You are also required to sign a print copy of this document when picking up at the rental location.
Do I need to leave a deposit?
To secure your reservation, you are required to pay a Reservation Deposit Fee equal to 20% of the total net rental charges for your reservation. The balance due, equal to 80% of the total rental fee, plus any applicable taxes is paid when you pick up the bike(s) at the participating rental location.

Fees and Pricing

Are there any additional fees for using RentaBikeNow.com?
A small Convenience Fee is added at checkout and is based on the number of bikes being reserved. Rates are as follows
  • 1 bike = $5
  • 2 bikes = $8
  • 3 bikes = $11
  • Each additional bike thereafter adds $2.50.
  • There is no Convenience Fee for accessories or tours.
Is the price on your site the same price at the bike rental location?
Yes, bike rental locations are required to list bikes online at the same price or less than those available in-store. In order to protect you, our customer, any violation of this strict policy should be immediately reported to RentaBikeNow.com.
Why are the rates different for different bikes and/or at different rental locations?
Participating rental locations choose what bikes their shop offers on RentaBikeNow.com and set their own pricing.
What payment methods do you accept?
Important: The payment method accepted on RentaBikeNow.com for Reservation Deposit and Convenience Fees may be different than payment methods accepted at the shop where you pick up your bike(s).
For your initial transaction on RentaBikeNow.com, we accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express and PayPal. The payment methods accepted for your balance due at the pick up location may vary and are determined by each participant. The payment methods the pick up location accepts will be clearly indicated in your RentaBikeNow.com Shopping Cart before your transaction is completed.
Will I receive credit or incur extra fees if I return the bike early or late?
Your bike has been specifically reserved for you during a specified time period and cannot be easily re-rented on short notice or extended as that may impact subsequent rentals. At pick-up, consult the bike shop regarding their policy regarding early returns or rental extensions.
Where can I get a Corporate Code or Discount Code?
Special Corporate (discount) Codes are available for companies that encourage their employees to ride bikes and help promote the RentaBikeNow.com network. To see if your company qualifies for a Corporate Code, have an authorized HR Benefits Representative contact us at HR_Benefits@rentabikenow.com

Things You Can Rent

What kind of bikes do you offer for rent?
RentaBikeNow.com is proud to offer the broadest selection of rental bikes on earth. Here you can rent Road Bikes, Mountain Bikes, Tandem Bikes, Comfort Bikes, Recumbents and more. It’s the participating rental locations that are the real heroes since each facility decides which bikes get listed on our site.
Can I rent additional accessories like a child seat?
Yes, rental locations may also offer bike related accessories. You can indicate your interest in a broad range of items during your Search on RentaBikeNow.com and include them in your reservation. Among items available are: trailers, helmets, locks, child carriers and bike racks just to name a few.
Why are some bikes available by the hour and some are not?
Just as rental locations determine their own bikes and pricing, they also determine the minimum and maximum rental terms for their bikes.
What size bike is right for me?
Your height range (or age-range for kids) is included in the RentaBikeNow.com Search process. Results should include bikes that are typically for people of the indicated size (or age). For specific size recommendations by brand, visit our Ride Resources page to link to the manufacturers website where most provide sizing recommendations that are specific for their bikes. You should confirm the correct "fit" when you pick up your bike. If the bike you selected is not the right fit, the rental location will gladly make minor adjustments or provide a suitable alternative (if available).
Does personal weight play a part in the bike choice?
Most bikes are designed to support a wide range of riders and can safely support most people – however some brands or models do carry weight limits. If you are concerned, you should contact the manufacturer of the bike you are interested in renting for specific weight limitations (if any). Our Ride Resources page provides links to many manufacturers.
Can I rent a bike helmet?
Proper fitting helmets should always be worn when biking and may be required in some areas. RentaBikeNow.com participating rental locations will always have an appropriate helmet available, although a small fee may apply. Some rental locations will include one with the bike, which will be listed in the description under Accessories Included. Otherwise helmets are often listed as an additional Accessory that you may include with your reservation.
What happens if I get a flat tire?
We strongly recommend that you always carry a cell phone when you ride as well as the phone number of the rental location. Should you have a mechanical problem, stop riding and move to a safe location before using your phone. Contact the rental location for further instructions.
What if the bike is stolen or damaged?
You are responsible for rental bikes and equipment from the time it is released to your custody until the time it is checked back in to the rental location. Each rental location determines the security deposit amount that may be held until bikes and equipment are returned in satisfactory condition, as well as the development and enforcement of their own damage and loss policies. State, local and federal laws may apply.
Can someone else ride the bike I rent?
Bikes are only to be ridden by the individual specified during the rental checkout process and as outlined in the Waiver, Release & Indemnification.
Do you offer specialty bikes for people with disabilities?
While we seek to offer the broadest selection of bikes, including those for people with disabilities, the participating rental locations choose what bikes get offered on the RentaBikeNow.com network.
Do you offer rental insurance?
No. RentaBikeNow.com does not currently offer insurance on rented bikes and equipment
What should I do if I’m in an accident?
Your health and safety is always a priority. If you are involved in an accident, you should seek appropriate medical assistance first, as well as contact local law enforcement. At your first reasonable opportunity, you should contact the bike rental location for additional information and next steps.

Participating Locations

What hours are your rental locations open?
Each bike rental location sets its own hours and holidays. During your initial Search on RentaBikeNow.com, only bike options from rental locations that are open on both your pick-up and drop off dates are presented. When selecting a specific bike, the shop’s hours are clearly indicated.
What if there is no rental location at my desired destination?
Changing your Search Criteria may help find a desired bike. Our network is growing every day, but there’s a chance we may not yet have a rental location at your destination. Please email us with your desired location and we will do our best to find a rental location in that area for your future needs.
Is there information on the local area including route maps or points of interest?
Yes, your RentaBikeNow.com confirmation sheet should have links that are relevant to your area and include good routes to ride, tourist attractions and additional information supplied by the local bike rental location. Plus, you can visit our Ride Resources page on RentaBikeNow.com for great sources of local information. If you don’t see the information your seeking, ask the rental location when you pick up your bike - most are very knowledgeable about their local areas.
What can I do if I have a particularly good or bad experience at a rental location?
We take your feedback very seriously. After every rental, you will be sent a short Satisfaction Survey by email. By completing the survey, you will help us refine our network to offer maximum satisfaction and only allow quality participants.

Policies

What about the weather?
In that different people will ride in various weather conditions, your reservation is valid regardless of the current weather unless the bike rental location feels that your safety may be jeopardized. If you experience inclement weather and wish to cancel, you may do so and receive a refund credit for the amount of your deposit, less a $5 service fee and use that credit for a future online reservation deposit at any RentaBikeNow.com location for up to 1 year. (See cancellation policy) There will be no further financial obligation for the balance due.
What's your cancellation policy?
You may cancel your reservation any time on or before the scheduled pick-up date and time and receive a refund credit for the amount of your deposit, less a $5 service fee and use that credit for a future online reservation deposit at any RentaBikeNow.com location for up to 1 year.
All cancellations requesting Refund Credit must be processed by one of two methods:
  • If 48 hours or more before your Pick-Up
    • Log into your RentaBikeNow.com account and cancel the reservation from within the “My Account” tab
  • If less than 48 hours before your Pick-Up
    • Call RentaBikeNow.com at (847) 441-4292 to request cancellation on or before your scheduled pick-up day/time.
    • If you’re calling outside of regular business hours:
      • Press Option: #1
      • Leave a message with your Name, the name of the Bike Shop, your Confirmation Number and a Phone number where we may reach you.
Do any special terms or conditions apply to my rental? Can I see them in advance?
At the time of reservation and at bike pick-up you must agree to our Waiver, Release & Indemnification. In addition your rental is subject to the Terms and Conditions as stated on the RentaBikeNow.com website, as well as Terms and Conditions that apply at your rental location. You may request to see the Terms and Conditions at a rental location by contacting them with the information printed on your rental confirmation.
How do you protect my privacy/information?
We value your privacy as much as we value your business. Under no circumstance do we provide unnecessary access to your personal or transaction information (except as required by law). We do not store your credit card information. For complete details please refer to our privacy policy.
